Tales of Tennessee Toads

Here’s another toad from June 14, 2014.  His name is Hoser. Every year we get a toad that hangs out by our hoses and its name becomes Hoser.

We haven’t had too many toads yet this year. Here’s one from June 14, 2014

This is the position they assume when I rub their heads. It’s probably a defensive position since they puff up their bodies when they do it. It’s quite cute and most of the regulars know I mean no harm. I usually only move them out of the way of traffic - in our case, the dogs going in and out of the house.
